President Lisa Kiper
I am honored to represent the Winnsboro-Franklin Parish Chamber of Commerce and serve as the 2020 President. Our Board of Directors is comprised of a group of community leaders who have a heart for serving the people of Franklin Parish. Our main goal is to promote our local businesses and provide them with resources and information in helping their businesses succeed. We recently instituted a new radio advertising program that spotlights our local businesses. We also just began a “Poppin In” social media campaign. Both of these programs are at no cost to our Chamber members. Look for our “I’m In” sign, hashtags, etc,, recognizing Chamber supporters! The Chamber works tirelessly throughout the year, hosting events such as these: Annual Installation Banquet-we install our new board and officers, enjoy a great meal and recognize individuals and businesses that have gone “above and beyond” in our parish, awarding the Spirit Award, the Business of the Year Award and the President’s Award. The recipient of the Spirit Award serves as our Grand Marshall in that year’s Christmas Parade. Taste of Franklin- an annual sellout gathering of local caterers, restaurants and goodwill ambassadors, providing them with an opportunity to show off their culinary skills. Great food, door prizes and good fellowship are the reasons this event sells out every year! April brings the Academic Achievement Banquet- This event is made possible by the generosity of our local businesses and individuals. Scholarships are awarded to EVERY high school senior who has maintained a 3.5 gpa and/or 25, or above, ACT score. Farmers Appreciation Banquet- being an agricultural parish, we are pleased to honor our local farmers with an evening of fried fish, all the trimmings and door prizes, every fall. Main St. Market-In November, we kick off the holiday season, “Christmas in the ‘Boro”, with an outside market, in downtown Winnsboro, featuring local merchants and home-based businesses. In December, we have our Annual Children’s Parade, allowing hundreds of children to walk or ride their non-gas-powered toys along a route that leads them back to a visit with Santa and refreshments. Our Annual Nighttime Christmas Parade brings multitudes of people to Winnsboro. This long-running event is one of the highlights of our year. The evening ends with a great fireworks display. The Chamber of Commerce hosts monthly lunch meetings, providing opportunities to network and learn about a variety of topics, from nutrition in the workplace to political happenings to what great things are taking place right here, in Franklin Parish! Our desire is to help your business grow, to help make Franklin Parish even better and to leave a legacy for future generations! If WE can help YOU, please, call the Chamber office, at 435-4488.
Sincerely, Lisa Kiper
